Thresholds & Saddles

Pemko manufactures thresholds in several materials to meet customer needs. Aluminum thresholds are manufactured of extruded tempered aluminum, 6063-T6. Architectural bronze/brass thresholds are manufactured of CDA alloy C38500. Thresholds are available in numerous configurations and finishes for most applications.

Saddle thresholds are symmetrical shapes designed to span a given area, usually under a door.
• Saddle thresholds are supplied predrilled, with #10-24 Phillips, flat head machine screws of appropriate length.
• To use a saddle threshold in an offset condition, use an elevator (Type 283 illustrated)

Door Shoes & Drop Seals

Door Shoes are used to seal the area under a door with minimal affect on the appearance of the face of the door. In addition to sealing the gap under the door, door shoes are often used to provide protection for the bottom of the door. Pemko door shoes consist of an aluminum channel with a flexible insert available in vinyl or PemkoPrene™.

• Channels are punched with elongated slots for easy adjustment.
• Door sweeps are provided with stainless steel fasteners.

Pemko Door Bottom Seals consist of a variety of solutions for sealing a door to the threshold or floor surface. They can be fully mortised, semi mortised, or surface mounted. All Pemko automatic drop seals incorporate the Pemko patented low friction ‘Feather Touch’ technology resulting in minimum operating forces.

Continuous Geared Hinges

Pemko continuous geared aluminium hinges are intended to be fixed to the full height of a door and frame. Each assembly consists of three interlocking extrusions in a pinless assembly, comprising a frame blade, a door blade and a capping piece. Pemko continuous geared hinge guarantee door alignment. Unique and maintenance free gearing means minimum effort is required to open doors of up to 345kg. Pemko hinge types illustrated in this section have been independently tested and approved for use on FD30S and FD60S doorsets to BS476: Part20 & 22. They have also been tested to I,500,000 cycles, a threefold increase on the BS EN 1935 requirements.
