Pemko
acoustic bulletin, edition 2, is available from June 2007.
It will encompass all the new extensive independent sound attenuating
testing we undertook through 2006.
A
new section will suggest for the first time, based upon factual
independent test evidence, methods of upgrading existing
doorset locations.
Improving
sound attenuation performances, especially as applied to doorsets
in either new build or refurbishment, now features as an essential
requirement facing specifiers and building managers.
Reference
to Building Regulations (England & Wales) Approved Document ‘E’ identifies
a requirement for a sound attenuating performance of Rw.29dB
for entrance doors to dwellings. Further reference to Building
Bulletin 93 will identify a requirement for an Rw.30dB performance
for classroom doors and an Rw. 35dB performance for doors to
Music Rooms for use in educational establishments.
Pemko
acoustic door sealing systems provide secondary benefits
which include:
- Improved
smoke sealing performance.
- Effective
light tight barrier for darkroom doors
- Reduce
energy loss around the door perimeter gaps
- Provide
draught and weather sealing.
