In previous News Updates we reported how working groups were looking to resolve differences in acoustic performances, where laboratory test evidence often bears little relationship to field measured performance.

ASDMA -, Architectural and Specialist Door Manufacturers Association are developing a code of practice for the comparative testing of door constructions and sealing systems, in a manner that hopefully provides for improved site performances.

Amongst the many issues to be addressed will be proposals which more accurately determine influences on closing forces, we shall be reporting on the progress of this interesting and enterprising initiative.

Work started on upgrading the current Pemko acoustic bulletin, edition no2 will encompass all of the extensive independent sound attenuating testing we undertook through 2006. Our objective is to launch edition no2 of the acoustic bulletin which will include a section on the upgrading of existing doorsets, around May/June 2007.

Pemko started a dialogue with the major UK testing authorities to determine the viability of creating a test programme for CE marking the Pemko continuous geared aluminium hinge range of products.

Pemko UK web site has now been upgraded to include a comprehensive CAD drawing section for down loading with wider product selection being available through the parent web site, www.pemko.com
